This publication details the methodology to create household, population
and employment data projected in 5-year intervals through 2030 for
cities
and counties in North Central Texas. Forecasts were created at the
traffic
survey zone (TSZ) level for use in technical planning studies. Results
in this
summary are provided at the city and county level. The forecast was
developed using a federally recognized land-use model that allocated
households and employment to 10 counties in North Central Texas:
Collin,
Dallas, Denton, Ellis, Johnson, Kaufman, Parker, Rockwall, Tarrant,
and
Wise. Extensive review by the North Central Texas Council of Governments
(NCTCOG) staff ensued each 5-year forecast. Local municipalities
worked
with staff to ensure that local government land use and comprehensive
plans were included in the forecast. A task force of local officials
from city,
county, and transportation entities acted as a governing body for
the process
and endorsed the forecast for approval by the NCTCOG Executive Board.
